Narratives of Form & Color

Perry Lawson Fine Art and Edward Hopper House Museum & Study Center, as neighboring art organizations in Nyack, NY, have organized concurrent exhibitions of the work of contemporary artist Jill Hoy.

Perry Lawson Fine Art is pleased to present Jill Hoy: Narratives of Form & Color, a solo exhibition featuring figurative and landscape paintings by Jill Hoy. Through her dynamic use of composition and the vivid interplay of form and color, Hoy captures both the immediacy of her experience and the richness of her imagination. Each painting tells a story and reflects the particular significance of its chosen subject. Her figurative work is created in her studio and drawn from her imagination, while she paints the landscapes en plein air by direct observation, inspired by the effects of natural light, color, and pattern.

OPENING RECEPTION: Sat, Oct 18, 5:00-7:00 pm

This exhibition (on view October 11, 2025 – February 15, 2026) celebrates the profound artistic dialogue between two accomplished contemporary painters Jon Imber (1950—2014) and Jill Hoy (b. 1954). Like Edward and Josephine Nivison Hopper, Imber and Hoy forged a lifelong creative bond during their marriage. They continually challenged each other, explored color, form, and abstraction painting side-by-side in their studios and outdoors.
